Sometimes Ecko acts like a dibbun and he steals candied chestnuts with the dibbuns from the kitchens. Ecko doesn't like to fight, in fact, he turned down fighting a long time ago, and will not raise a weapon unless completely necessary.
History: Ecko was born into a little cabin in the middle of Mossflower woods. He lived with his mother, father, and no other siblings. Ecko grew up around cheeriness and story-telling and love for everybeast. When Ecko was still a youngster, about 11 seasons old, he heard a wonderful story about Redwall Abbey. Ever since then, he had always dreamed of living there, or even just traveling to see the magnificent structure. Luckily, his parents shared the same hope as their son, and they traveled to Redwall Abbey. Unfortunately, at the time of their travel, a vermin band decided to siege Redwall and try and destroy it. The vermin numbered over 100, but the Redwallers bravely fought on. His father pawed a sword and motioned his family to move ahead to a side entrance. The door was locked when they made it there, but the father had an idea. He unsheathed his sword and started to hack away at the lock on the door, in hopes of entering. There was a loud banging as the process started happening and it attracted several vermin.
By the time the lock was done, the family was inside safe, but the door had no lock. Swiftly, several otters moved tables, barrels, anything that came to hand and blocked the door from being opened. ecko and his mother were sent inside, being told they'd be safe. Their father grabbed a bow and a quiver of arrows and traveled up to the ramparts where other beasts were, trying their hardest to repel the attack. Ecko's father was wounded with an arrow and taken to the infirmary where he was kept there until the siege ended. Ecko, wanting a part in the action, traveled out with a shortbow and some arrows and stood on the ramparts. Amid confusion, Ecko fired an arrow and killed a rat. Then Ecko dropped his bow, curled up, and cried. He had just killed a creature, and it was eating him up inside. An otter spotted him, and instead of scolding him, he simply carried him to safety and traveled back to the ramparts and fought on.
The siege went on for several days, but Redwall stood strong, and the vermin retreated. It was said that Ecko's father would not live, and that he was bleeding internally. Crying, Ecko and his mother traveled up to the infirmary, said what they had to say, then silently walked off to their room... and cried. Ecko's father was buried the next day.
Over the years, Ecko's mother had grown old and passed away and Ecko had vowed to never raise a weapon unless completely necessary. After several more years, Ecko became Abbot of Redwall, and has dcided to stay with Redwall forever.
