Name: Ember
Age: 33
Gender: Male
Species: Red Fox
Marital Status: Widower, twice in fact.
Occupation and Home: Lives in a cave in Mossflower. Yes, a cave. With absolutely nothing fancy, it was originally carved by a stream and as a result is very small, but now the stream has averted its course and Ember has moved in. He has no real occupation, but he minds himself for the most part. Still, if he sees the unsuspecting traveler he'll definitely make use of thievery. More often he's a fisher.
Skills: He uses a rapier with a golden twisted hilt and hand guard. He's talented with it in that he is fast to strike and fast in just about every aspect, but as it is a slim and bending weapon it has little power in the way of strength. And he'd pretty much be useless against someone wielding an axe.
Weaknesses: Some of them were stated above, but on top of those he's rather trusting (yes, a trusting vermin)
Alignment: Chaotic neutral. That is, he might save your life, but he'll definitely steal your money, your weapons, and anything else he can get his hands on.
Appearance: He's a very handsome and well-groomed fox, actually. He almost looks...proper. He has red-brown short and thin fur, which shows clearly that he is a lean figure without much in the way of muscle. Save for maybe his biceps, he isn't a particularly muscular guy. He's an easy-going guy, and avoids hard labor whenever possible. His muzzle, all save the bridge of his nose, is white, as is his chest. His paws are all black and his tail is black-tipped. He's actually somewhat short for a fox--only slightly taller than your average mouse. He generally wears a white long-sleeved shirt (think pirate shirt, though I don't know what they're called) and a green vest over top, open on the front. He wears leather pants (or rather made from the skin of some animal or other. Fortunately he didn't kill said beast, he just stole the pants off someone who did.)
Personality: Ember is a very laid-back vermin. He might be more evil and vicious and fearsome if he wasn't so lazy. But yes, he is very lazy, lazy whenever possible. If you're standing and you can sit, sit. If you're sitting and you can lay, lay.
Since he's so laid-back he has to have an almost winning personality in order to keep away any troublesome beasts that might interrupt his lazy lifestyle. He's flattering and respectful and knows when to act how. And yet at the same time he likes to mess with people. He loves to test them, to toy with them, to see how far he can push them, and it usually takes extreme self-control to get past that need in order to just flatter the beast and thereby get rid of said beasty.
History: Ember's early years are unknown. He came to Mossflower around age 20. The only clue to his years before that is his yearly pilgrimage to an old grave site. Sometimes he weeps, more often he yells, sometimes he kicks it, sometimes he tenderly re-carves the name and dates. He never really knows what he'll do until he gets there. Why he does it...well that's perhaps for someone else to figure out.
He joined a vermin horde traveling through Mossflower, and there he got himself a second mate. A gray she-fox named Blueflower, but neither held much love for each other beyond the infatuation between two of the same species. Besides, Ember knew better. He had tasted a better life, a better love. And so when she was killed by the band's leader, Ragtail (also a fox), Ember was surprised that he felt no remorse. He did, however, leave the band that night and disappeared into the woods. He avoided Ragtail's trackers by hiding in the cave that is now his permanent residence. As the years passed, Ragtail's band left Mossflower without too much trouble, and Ember came back out into the open. But since then he has continued to make the cave his home and he fishes from the stream nearby.
