OOC: So here's the vermin character I promised.
Name: Ixsten
Age: 30
Gender: Male
Species: Ferret
Marital Status: Single
Position and Home: Hordebeast in the Glassmakers army (officer?)
Strengths: -Very engineer minded
-clever mind and paws
-A fair artist
Weaknesses:-not as great a fighter as he would like to be
- Small build
- Often cowardly
Alignment: Bad, bad, bad
Appearance: Ixsten is much shorter and smaller than the average ferret, but he is still pretty strong and quick. His body adds the most to his height as his legs are pretty short. His fur is dusty brown along the back, head, limbs and sides and a dirty cream color on the throat, stomache and chest. Ixten's paws are not very large but they are wuick and nimble.
Ixsten's face is very angular, with few rounded places. His eyes are normal brown and almond shaped. He had several scars most of which are covered by his thick, well kept fur. One that isn't covered stretches across his left eye brow.
Ixsten's clothing is usually pretty varied but he often wears a bright red tunic, fringed by a colorful stripe at the bottom. His belt is a simple white woven cord.
In his belt he keeps a scimater and several daggers of varying size, along with a leather puch that is stuffed with sketches of things he's buidling, small machine parts and small machines he's working on.
Personality: Ixsten is short tempered and moody. he is often picked on because of his size and skill for drawing and building things. He can be sarcastic and mean somtimes. He is very clever and smart though. His spare time is spent sketching/buidling simple machines and weapons, disassembling machines, and making screws, springs, gears, cranks, pullies and otehr small parts. He also often draws other things such as birds and sunsets. This practice leads to a lot of teasing from bigger vermin. Despite this he sees himself as a good artist.
Ixsten is brave with an army beside him and when he is facing those weaker than himself. He is often cruel to good beasts and bad beasts alike.
Ixsten is a pretty good fighter though he is more adept to strategy and planning rather than actual fighting.
History:
Ixsten was born and raised in a small clan of vermin that lived in a series of small caves in Mossflower. His mother was barely 18 when she gave birth to him. Because of this she died right after he was born. She was not exactly a pretty ferret but she was very delicate. She was simply known as Cai.
Ixsten's father was a low ranking ferret in the clan, but a renouned hunter. His name was Tibero and he thought very highly of himself. He was often asking for a promotion though the cheif of the clan kept him where he was for a reason.
Because his mother died in child birth, Ixsten was named and raised by the old stoat seer of the clan. The seer, who was named Quilder, had black fur and gray eyes and was thought to be very wise. We all know of course vermin are hardly ever wise. Quilder was almost 80 and didn't take much interest in his new charge, so besides feeding and clothing him, he mostly left Ixsten to his own affairs.
Because of this, Ixsten's early life was very uneducated. He learned to fight from watching others, and taught himself how to draw.
The warriors of the clan often went out on "raids", pillaging homes with small amounts of animals. They never took risks against large groups of creatures.
About 15 years after Ixsten's birth the clan began to dwindle away. There wheren't very many females, so not very many young where raised. Quilder the seer was long dead, while others had also grown old. Since old ones could not fight or hunt, they where abandoned. Quilder had been kept only for his seer skills.
Plauge also came to the clan. It killed all the weeker ones and many of the strong ones too, including the leader of the clan. Without the leader, fights broke out and several vermin where killed.
Those who survived all this dispersed, heading seperate ways. Ixsten was among these few. He became a bandit, stealing while his victims where awat doing chores. His cowardly nature kept him from direct confrontation though he built up his fighting skills a lot.
Later when recruting officers came looking for new vermin to join the Glassmakers army Ixsten jumped at the chance, plunder and loot in site. He was soon singled out as a target for teasing and cruel jibes. Though his mind was stronger than the other vermins his muscles where generally not, because of his size.
