Name: Brush
Age: 28
Gender: Male
Species: Squirrely
Marital Status: Available
Position and Home: King? of Southsward (I'm bringing him here because we need a king, although if you'd rather he not be I can make him one of the Redwall travellers.)
Strengths: -Practical wit (i.e. survival skills)
-Good strategist
-Level headed
Weaknesses: -Not particularly skilled with Dibbuns
-Hates staying in one place for too long
-Bad with slings
Alignment: Good
Appearance: Brush is tall and slender, never allowing himself to become fat. He has a rather subdued fur color, a tannish-brown that isn't readily noticeable. His eyes always seem to be a little bit narrow, as though he were scrutinizing everything. His movements are quick, but not jerky.
Though he's a king, Brush has never taken to that style of dress, and wears clothing more suited for a traveller. This consists of a white, short-sleeved shirt under a maroon vest, all belted with a woven brown belt. Around his left wrist, he wears a similar woven bracelet. Only at formal occasions will he wear robes and a crown, and then only grudgingly.
Personality: In times of war, Brush is essentially a no-nonsense kind of squirrel. He can mentally view each choice in an emergency situation and pick the best one. He has practical wit, and can survive in the wilderness without much of anything. However, he's not much of a scholar, as he gets rather bored with anything involving academic pursuits. He learned up to the point where he could read and write, and pretty much stopped off there.
Outside of battle, a different side of Brush comes out. While he's not exactly boisterous, he has a dry sense of humor, and when he allows it to come out it is pretty entertaining. On rare occasion, he gets thoughtful, and when he does, he's rarely at a loss for an answer to much.
Brush is very loyal, going to great lengths to defend others he cares about. He puts a little too much stock in honor, though, meaning he will sometimes go too far for its sake. He's also very bored with his current lifestyle, so he is too willing to travel whenever he can. He's not meant for a sedentary lifestyle, at least not for now.
History: Brush was born in Southsward to his parents, Jeran and Vanna. As Vanna was the king's sister, Brush was third in line, after the king's two children. His parents could tell, however, that he wasn't meant to be a king; he was too free-spirited, too adventurous. However, he still went through the same education as any possible ruler would. He managed to sit through his academic lessons, though he always enjoyed the more 'practical' lessons: namely, those involving survival and weaponry. The otter guard at Castle Floret noted that he was particularly skilled in the use of the javelin; that became his main weapon to train with from age fifteen.
When Brush was nineteen, he left home to go wandering. His father presented him with a finely crafted javelin, and his mother gave him the woven bracelet he wears to this day. With that, and a promise that he would visit every few seasons, he set off and went exploring.
On his first visit back home when he was 23, he found sad news: a season ago, the king and his two children had perished in a fire. As Brush was now the king, he had to leave off his journeys and settle down, something he had never hoped to do. For five seasons now, he's been king, and while he's not bad at it, he eagerly awaits a day when he can satisfy his desire to wander once again.
