Green Isle: An island in the far Western Sea, Green Isle was inhabited by Scottish-type otter clans for many years. However, they were conquered by wildcat invaders from the south, and enslaved. Their last great ruler was the High Queen Rhulain Wildlough.
The last Wildcat Warlord of Green Isle, Riggu Felis, was challenged by a band of otter rebels led by Leatho Shellhound. The Feral-Cat army of Green Isle was eventually defeated, and Tiria Wildlough of Redwall Abbey became the queen of a peaceful Green Isle.
Green Isle has a mixed geography. To the north, there is a beautiful vale, Holt Summerdell, which was once a favourite resort for the otters before the wildcat invasion. The central part of the island is dominated by a huge lake, Deeplough, where the legendary monster Slothunog (similar to Nessie) used to reside before its death at the paws of Cuthbert Blanedale Frunk. South lies the fortress of Green Isle, once ruled by otters, but dominated by the wildcats after the conquest. This fortress was burned in the war where Felis was defeated.
Ruddaring is a ring-shaped mountain island in the middle of the Western Sea. From the outside it looks like a barren rock, however underneath the isle, hidden by the tide, is the passageway to Holt Rudderwake, which is located in the center.
Sampetra is a tropical island in the distant part of the Western Sea. It was ruled by the emperor Ublaz Mad Eyes, a pine marten with a hypnotic stare. It is perpetually summer in the warm tropical isle, and was the ancient home of a race of fearsome monitor lizards, who worked for Ublaz and were his primary shock troops. No trees grow on the island.
Ublaz's palace is situated on a rocky raise on the southwestern tip, as well as a harbor and several taverns in which any frequenting corsairs could amuse themselves. All corsairs who chose to berth their vessels at Sampetra were obligated to pay tribute to Ublaz, who in turn allowed them to use his stockpile of wood to repair their ships. The eastern end of the island is a cove.
After Ublaz was defeated, the ships and wood stockpile were destroyed, and all the remaining corsairs were marooned upon the island.
Terramort Isle was located in the far northwestern sea. It was the home of Gabool the Wild and his corsairs, as well as the location of Fort Bladegirt. A particularly unique feature of the island was the fact that it was crisscrossed by hundreds of tunnels, a characteristic utilized by the Trag. It was presumably fully abandoned after the defeat of Gabool and his searat army, with Bladegirt being gutted by Trag and Rawnblade Widestripe.
It is referred to in a poem as the 'Land of Death', which is the literal translation from the Latin "terra" meaning land, and "mortis", meaning death. The word "Terramort" is a portmanteau of the 2 Latin words.
Also, at the beginning of Salamandastron, one can observe the lower half of Terramort (with it's apparent lack of Fort Bladegirt) at the top left corner of the map.
The Island of the Wrecked Ships is a rocky island in the Western Sea near Southsward where many ships have been wrecked. The island is surrounded by treacherous rocks and bordered by forbidding cliffs. A small rocky cove opens to a beach at the edge of a forest. This cove is filled with the remains of ships which had been thrown against the island by storms.
Benjy, Wincey and Figgs were youngsters who had been marooned with Burrom on the island. They resided there until the Pearl Queen arrived. Burrom had died on the island, so the crew took the young ones with them.
