All right. After careful consideration and more than enough schoolwork, I've decided that we should have a plot. Anyone can object, of course, if it strikes him/her as stupid, but I kinda like this one:
A claimed descendant of Badrang has reclaimed Marshank, allegedly under peaceful terms. He has been repairing the fort to its former glory and, on top of it all, providing wealth and services for easterners. He gives out loans and provides crews of vermin to help with anything ranging from construction to crowd control. His ideas are innovative and interesting, and beasts had begun to rather like this new authority. It almost goes without saying that beasts in Strat haven't paid much heed to the rebuilding of Marshank.
But now, beasts are finding themselves indebted to this descendant of Badrang. His unestablished deadlines for paying back loans are far too early and come upon beasts unexpectedly, and in order to keep his business running, he has begun implementing taxes across the eastern coast. Wherever land is not specifically defined as owned by a beast, tolls and fees have been put into place. Beasts are beginning to despise the taxes. Some have tried to simply walk past toll roads without paying a dime, but all have been stopped roughly by vermin. Rumors are spreading that some have even died at the paws of these vermin.
The wealthy beasts of Strat, of course, hardly notice. Strat is a protected city untouched by Badrang's descendant. The poorer surrounding settlements are growing angry with them, but have given up hope that the beasts of Strat might act. Instead, the poverty-stricken are scheming, whispering among themselves. Dibbuns dream of toys and candy whilst parents dream of revolution.
Nobeast has yet struck a blow to Marshank. That is, until now...
