Professor Fallis is a mysterious creature: he took up residence in an old castle on the northern fringes of Mossflower, but hasn’t been seen by any beast for ages. His servants will be seen in settlements and villages, buying supplies and doing business under the Professor’s name. But Falliss himself, it seems, hasn’t left his castle for seasons. Most of the older generation has forgotten all details about him, and the younger generation doesn’t even know what species he is. So long has his self imposed exile lasted that many simply assume him to be dead.
However, this is far from the case: Professor Falliss is alive and well, and has even invited ten beasts to spend a day or two at his castle. This wouldn’t be overly strange, if not for the fact that each guest was summoned under different pretences, and not one of them has any history with either the Professor or each other!
After the ten strangers gather for dinner, the Professor himself reveals his reason for summoning them all: they are to be made subjects of one of Falliss’s social experiments. He tells them that only one of them can leave the castle… but not before the other nine are dead. And what’s more, Falliss is leaving it up to the guests to decide who lives and who dies.
What would you do in such a situation? Would you try to escape, or take a stand? Would you run and hide, or seek and destroy? Would you hold on to you moral beliefs, or would you murder a stranger to ensure your safety? Would you keep your wits about you, or descend into madness? Well, why not enter the castle of Professor Falliss and find out? An interactive story set in the Redwall universe, ten contestants each write parts of the plot, trying to provide an engaging narrative while trying to keep their character alive. At the end of the week, the audience decides who they want killed, and who they want to continue on, until only one remains.
So write a submission, pack your bags, and head off to the Castle of Professor Falliss. And who knows: you might just make it out alive.
