Name: Ash
Species: Pine Marten
Gender: Male
Age: 47
Occupation & Home No Occupation; Redwall Abbey
Alignment: Neutral
Appearance: Ash is one categorized as 'a sight to see', and its not a good thing, either. He is blind in one eye, his left to be exact, which gives his eye a slightly misty color. As if he wasn't handicapped already, he is also color blind in his right eye, giving him a disability, again. He is horribly scarred and deformed all over his waist and up, with hideous scars, and patches of fur missing. To cover this up, Ash wears clothing all the time, mainly on his abdomen area. His face isn't handsome, sue to the white color of his blinded eye. Other than that, Ash always walks with a limp, which is hardly visible.
Ash is tall, but he isn't the strongest of the strong. Something that helps him with his limp is a cane he always carries. In his belt, is a tonfa which he uses only in dire situations, and a dagger just to cut things. The dagger is incredibly sharp, and has cut Ash many times.
Personality: Ash is one that doesn't want to let his past go. And what I mean by this is, he acts like he was when he was younger. He had to change liestyles when he moved into his current residence, Redwall Abbey. By this, I mean he had to change his ways, learn to treat others with respect, learn manners, all the things goodbeasts in Redwall know. He struggled at first, but soon picked up a bit, but sometimes, he will forget that he is in Redwall and must abide their rules.
Strengths:
-- Smart
-- Has improved senses due to blindness
-- Will protect others, no matter what
Weaknessess:
-- Is handicapped due to eye blindness
-- Is old and weak
-- Can be taken advantage of
-- Can't fight well due to age and disabilities
History: Ash was born into a regular family, except his lifestyle was really vicious. His brothers often fought for food, and their parents? They didn't care. They looked at it as a 'Learning Process'.
At age 14, Ash's parents were assassinated by a secret organization known as 'The Green Biret'. They viewed Ash's parents as enemies. In truth, Ash's parents were actually assassins, top assassins for a rival organization to the Green Biret. So, without their parents, Ash and his three other brothers had to fight for food. That meant beating, wounding, injuring badly, and possibly killing.
The brothers faced hardships, and during the next winter, food was getting scarce. The tree brothers turned savage, cannabilistic. They attacked each other, and the dead were eaten. When only one was left, he stared upon Ash with savage eyes, growled fiercely, then chased him. Ash ran for his life, but his brother caught up with him and tackled Ash to the ground. The two pine martens battld viciously, but Ash wasn't winning. His brother pinned him to the ground and snarled in his face, "Ye always were a weakling, Ashy." Before Ash's brother could do anything, he went still and rolled off Ash's body. There was an arrow protruding from his brother's skull. An ferret walked over, "Get up." It said silently. "It's not safe here." And before Ash could move, the ferret hoisted Ash onto his back and carried him off somewhere deep into the mountains. Ash was fast asleep when they arrived upon their destination. The ferret pounded on the door with some secret code; one hard pound, two softer, then three hard. The door opened, and the ferret grabbed Ash's body and hauled him in.
"Hello Sgt. Neko. I hope our new recruit didn't put up much of a struggle?" A hooded rat said, greeting the ferret. "He was being attacked." Is all Neko said before dragging Ash off some room, possibly the barracks. Neko pulled Ash's shirt off and pulled his shoes off, tossed Ash in a bed, then threw his own self into a bed directly across from Ash.
The next morning, Ash awoke and looked all around, taking in his surroundings; Beds. Dressers. Weapons. Where was Ash? Climbing out of bed, Ash walked out of the room and was greeted by Neko, "So, you finally arise. Put this on." He said, handing Ash a leathery type armor, black colored, and a hood. Neko stood there as Ash changed into his new clothing. Nodding his readiness to Neko, Ash asked, "Where am I?" Neko ignored him and, instructing him to follow him, walked into a chamber where the same hooded rat that greeted Neko the night before was now eating. Motioning to a seat, the rat explained everything, "Hello Ash." He said before lowering his hood to reveal a thin face, silvery gray fur, and one eye. "Please, do not be troubed by my... appearace." He said, laughing evily. "We are a secret organization known as The Green Biret. We assassinated your parents. They were rivals, threatening to kill us. To kill me." Ash growled, and if not for Neko, he would have throttled the rat. Neko held Ash down in the chair while the rat continued, "My name is Nathair [Nith-air]. You have been recruited by us. You will speak when spoken to. The three thing you will only say are 'Yes sir.' 'No sir'. and 'I don't know sir, I will find out, sir.' Remember these words, Ash. Dismissed." He said with a wave of his paw. Neko grabbed Ash by the shoulder and hauled him out of the room.
The next few years, Ash has been at his new home, the headquarters to the Green Biret. He has hone hid body into a lethal weapon through excercise and training. It was at the age of 19 that Ash was sent on his first mission. At that age, however, Ash was a sergeant. He was making great progress through the years.
Ash went to Nathair where he recieved his first contract. "You are too take four others with you and a medic. Head to these parts." he said, indicating to an island on a map. "and assassinate their leader. Dismissed." Ash nodded, took the map then assembled his troops. However, on their way out, Ash was greeted by Neko, "Hold up, seargeant. I am instructed to come with you. Natair thinks you are still too inexperienced." Neko said. Ash showed no emotion and simply nodded, "Alright, leftenant. Lead the way." (Leftenant is fancy for Lieutenant)
A day later, Ash and Neko arrived to their designated island. They got out of the boat, all except for the medic. Neko handed the medic a sword, "Stay here. Don't move. Don't ask questions. Guard the boat." The medic, a scrawny stoat nodded quickly.
The 6 assassins were off to their designated target. It was pitch black. Perfect for an assassination. Speding up into a jog, Ash and Neko led the band of assassins to their targeted area. A tent. Many tents. No sentries. Good. Neko motioned to stay in the darkness for the light would give away their position. They arrived at a building, looming into the sky was a sentry tower. No sentries. What was going on? Unfortunately, Neko saw this as an opportunity, but Ash didn't, "Where are all the sentries. We should fall back. We cant risk this!" He growled. Neko turned around and slapped Ash, "You know better than to disrespect us. I am your elder in both rank and skill. Do not oppose my authority." Neko snapped. Rlling his eyes, Ash followed Neko around the back to a secreted door.
Opening the door silently, Neko led the assassins in. Inside was a dark room. Silently heding up the stairs, ash and Neko came upon a door. Inside there was talking. Sounded like a conversation. Neko instructed all the hide along the wall behind him, whereas Ash was to take the opposite side of the door, alone. The conversation on the other side of the door stopped, and footsteps could be heard heading towards the door. Then, the door opened, and out strolled a fox. "Tag 'im!" Neko whispered sharply, and an assassin popped up in front of the fox and slit his throat. Carefully lowering the body so a noise coudnt be heard, The assassin fell back in line with his allies. Then, Neko opened the door and strolled in.
"I've been waiting for you. Neko!" A voice said from behind a large chair. Spinning sharply, a wolverine stood up and shot Neko with an arrow, then stomped three times, signaling guards to come. Neko fell to the ground, dead. The arrow protruding from his chest. "Fall back!" Ash shouted sharply. As they turned around, the assassins were all captured and taken into captivity. However, the four other assassins fought back, and therefore, they were killed on the spot. Ash, however, cooperated, and was spared. Ash was knocked out and taken to a cell where he would be kept.
The following morning, Ash woke up with a massive head ache. "He's awake." A voice said. The sound of a sliding cell door could be heard, as Ash was draged out of his cell, a bag thrown over his head, and led somewhere. An hour later, they stopped walking and the bag was taken off Ash's head and he was almost blinded from the sunlight. In front of him was the wolverine that killed Neko. "You are here bcause you tried to kill me. Neko? He was a traitor. He was working for me. I couldn't let him live anymore. He was too dangerous to be kept alive." These word struck Ash like a thunderbolt, but the pine marten stayed calm, and kept silent, no matter what. The wolverine, seeing no cooperation would happen, sighed, and dismissed him. Ash had the bag thrown over his head again, and was taken back to his cell.
That night, Ash planned an escape. When the one who was supposed to bring food would come, Ash would kill him, take the keys, then escape.
Meal time came, and Ash stood by his cell, and as soon as the stoat came by, Ash lashed out and throttled him with his chains. The stoat fell dead, and ash grabbed the keys from the belt, and opened his cell. Sneaking out, Ash stayed in the darkness and soon came upon his boat. Surprisingly, the stoat was still there, asleep though, but still there. Getting in his boat, Ash rowed away, glad to be free of the island.
A day later, Ash came upon land, and nudged the stoat to get up. The stoat awoke slowly, groaned, then fell back asleep. Rolling his eyes, Ash grabbed the scrawny beast, hauled him over his shoulder, then headed back to the headquarters. Upon entry, Nathair greeted him, then posed Ash as a failure. Ash snapped back, and in response, he was slapped, then carried away to a chamber. Ash was beaten, for his supposed 'failure', and he was tortured by Nathair himself. Nathair broke Ash's leg, and burnt him with fire all over his body. Grolwing, Ash struggled and struggled, but Nathair kept throwing burning mathces onto him, burning him and burning him. Soon, Nathair stoipped and left.
At that point, Ash vowed to kill Nathair. That night, Ash was sleeping, his leg was healed to the best, but he would have a limp the rest of his life. Ash woke up, grabbed his crutch, and left. Left for good.
He knew he'd be hunted for abandoning the Green Biret, but he didn't care. He just wanted to get away from there. Ash had been wandering for hours, with no food. H hadn't eaten in two days, and the exhaustion finally caught up to him. Ash's legs buckled, and he collapsed from sheer exhaustion.
One day later, Ash was found by a band of otters who took him to Redwall where he would live for the rest of his life. His wounds were healed, but he was hideously scarred all over his torso. His leg was re-healed, by the skilled healers of Redwall. Ash would have to learn the lifestyle of Redwaller's if he were to keep this place his home.
