Springheel Jakk had been out tree climbing, observing all around him. He was in a cheery mood for no reason whatsoever. Probably in that mood because he was having a fun time. Then his shouting and 'whooping' calmed down as he noticed a beast directly in front of his path. Smirking lightly, Springheel continued his tree-hopping until he was in a tree directly above the above. Luckily, the beast's back was to Springheel, so he hadn't a need to worry about being spotted. Upon closer look, the young fox realized that the beast in question was actually a stoat. "Oy." Springheel muttered. He didn't want to cause trouble, but if he turned now, he would surely be heard by the stoat, so Springheel stayed silent where he was, being careful not to make a noise until...
"Hello there, mate! How are you today, sir? You are a sir, right?" Springheel dropped from the branch and was dangling with his feet locked about the strong branch he was recently sitting on, so now, Springheel was upside down and staring into the eyes of a stoat, supposedly on the evil side. Springheel better act like he was on his side, because he didn't want to cause trouble.

"Are you talking to mein gut zelf?"
Without sparing a glance upwards at the stoat, Lucius, who was perhaps the only bear in Mossflower, rested a paw calmly on the hilt of the massive tsurugi that was his broadsword.
"I vill azk again... Are you talking to mein zelf?"
Without needing to look up, the massive beast could tell from the scent that the beast above him was a fox... Not that he really cared, since he was a sell-sword by trade, but still, it never paid to be at a disadvantage... Right?

The large black hybrid badger and wolverine cleared brush from his path and signaled to a well-built stoat carrying a bow and arrows. One shaft zinged through the air and buried itself a hairs-breadth above Lucius' head as the beast came forth, eyes glittering in the light of a strong ray of moonlight, teeth bared. He smiled insanely, drawing the broadsword and pointing it at the bear's head, the hilt level with his stomach. Even though he was seven feet the bear was still an enormous creature.
'Names...? They call me Zyntac.'

"Lucius. Lucius Dante Aximand."
Standing up, the bear towered over the hybrid by a good head or more. Picking up his sword in one paw, he smirked.
"Vou may haff ze bvoadsvord, but meine ist bigger, ja?"
The tsurugi was indeed a massive sword, the whole sword was nearly the size of the bear, and the blad easily as wide as his upper arm and forearm. such was the weight of the steel weapon, that only the current wielder could swing it.
"Do you vant to try your luck againzt meine svord? I vill not guarantee you a vin at all."

Do you vant to try your luck againzt meine svord? I vill not guarantee you a vin at all.
Zyntac Tataroo chuckled slightly, drawing the broadsword in a swift movement and burying the tip in the ground. Five barbed arrows came out of nowhere and hit the earth with a thud. Zyntac snickered.
'I'd like to see you win, Lucius, is it?'

"I do not bandy vords vith covards. Fight me von on von. und ve vill see who vins zis."
Not even batting an eye as the arrows flew past him, the mercenary stood his ground against the smaller beast without a hint of fear present. He was a warrior... He had a bushido, a warrior's code, and that often had him at a disadvantage... Not that anyone had been foolish enough to argue with a bear more than twice most warlord's height, and same again shoulder-width... Nor were many about to argue the fact he was more than a little deadly with his weapons, the fangs hanging on his necklace a testament to that fact.
"I vill say it von more time... Vill you fight me, Lucius Dante Aximand, von on von, vith no tricks? Or do I valk avay now und leave you standinc zhere like ein doof madchen?"

OOC: That last part's in German. The translation would be "... like a stupid young girl?"

"Vill you fight me? Von more time, Vone more time. BAH! ENglish!" Springheel shouted above everything else. "I am not afriad of you. What species are you, anyway?" Springheel asked, bewildered. Hopping down from his branch, the fox ignored the hybrid and walked over to the bear and stared up at him, not even twitching. Poking him slightly in the shoulder, Springheel chuckled, "I've never seen you 'round these parts, mate. Are you on the good side or the bad side? Cuz I'd hate to have you as my enemy. Standing up on his tip toes, Springheel stole a glance at the massive blade, "Oi. Big blade. Big blade for a big boyo, eh?" He said, playfuly tapping the bear on the chest. Winking at he bear, Springheel turned around and acknowledge the hybrid as if this was the first time seeing him, "You are one ugly boyo, eh?" Cracking his neck, Springheel turned back to the bear, "My name's Springheel. How do ye do, mister?" Without waiting for an acknowledgement, Springheel grasped the bear's hand with both paws and started shaking it with vigor.

Only mildly put out by the fox, Lucius answered the questions without breaking eye contact with the hybrid across from himself.
"I am ein bear. I haff no alegience to ezer gut, or evil."
Which was when the fox started to vigourously pump the bear's paw up and down. Freeing his paw, he gripped the massive axe slung across his back and hold it out to the fox.
"Hold ziz for me."
Coming from the bear, that was practically a joke... The weight alone would flatten the fox, since it took a badger to lift the axe.

The four companions had slowly been sneaking up on the confrontation, Vaul the Marlfox/Wolf, Ragnfast Fistmace Fireeyes The Wolverine/Badger, Balfuron Redrought Hrunding Grundikas the Golden Hamster, and Gunnlaug Kætilmund Of Bothvar Son of Arnfinn the Beaver. They had watched from hiding the actions that had unfolded and it seemed even though the bear and fox were mighty warriors in their own right they were outnumbered by the vermin hiding amongst the trees. Ragnfast was seething with the beginnings of hellbent fiery madness his whole mind threatening to become lost in the tidal wave that was his Bloodwrath. The putrid smell of another half breed like himself was almost more then he could bear. Vaul placed a soothing paw on his friends massive shoulder "Control, Ragn Control." "It is another Vaul! another unnatural beast brought about by an unnatural union!" Ragnfast snarled as he rubbed the cap on the stump of his left wrist. "Wull me brohems we be having tah figure out what is the plan?" Gunnlag whispered. "I also agree, we need a plan lest those two beasts be ambushed in such a cowardly manner!" Balferon growled and unhooked his mace from its belt. "I agree friends and we do, Balfuron and Gunnlag you circle around and wait for my signal to attack. You then take out as many archers as you can.. Ragnfast and me will go and see if we can even the visible odds." "Aye good plan! hurry thoe me axe is getting a might peckish!" Gunnlag chuckled and slunk out of view with Balferon close in tow. Vaul turned to Ragnfast his bright golden eyes wide with compassion for his friends plight. "I can go alone..." he said and let the rest hang. "Not on your life Vaul!" Rangfast stood up and walked out into the clearing. "Just remember control!" Vaul said and steeped out with him. "Good evening neighbors what seems to be the fuss about?" Vaul smiled and kept his paws away from his weapons in an openhanded gesture of peace. Ragnfasts black eyes glittered with hatred at the other hybrid and he slowly spun the mace attached to his stump, keeping the spiked head moving in case of trouble.

(Hey! You can't be ovr there, that's where my army is!)
Glittering eyes soon gave Zyntac's army away as they massed around the golden hamster and the beaver. At least 1,000 of the beasts were there, rats, foxes, stoats, weasels, ferrets, a few polecats, lizards, frogs. The assortment of weaponry was even more varied; cutlasses, swords, rapiers, bows, arrows, axes, maces, bolas, knives, dirks, spears, pikes, daggers, and a few others. A captain in Zyntac's army, a massive wolf with a mace and an axe, shouted out one word and the woodlands became alive with vermin hidden from the bear, the hybrids, the foxes, the marlfox.
Zyntac stopped the swirling mace with a flick of his broadsword and turned to the Marlfox. 'None of you're business, fox. Go on and leave.' Then, looking at Lucius, he twitched a paw. 'I'll accept you're challenge, bear.'

"Gut, gut... I dizlike ze covards. Zey offend meine honour as ein varrioir."
Letting go of the axe without even making sure if the fox had a decent grip on it, the bear held his massive sword in both paws loosely yet readily.
"Zhere vill be no armour, or shields in zis fight. Zis vill be to fist blood az vell. Agreed?"

Zyntec Tataroo grinned and raised his broadsword. 'Aye. Agreed.' Eyes glowed faintly red as the hybrid allowed a tint of bloodwrath to ride in his eyes.
'Ye' start furst.'
(SHORTNESS)

"If you inzizt, zhen I vill."
As slow a fighter as the bear was, he was surprisingly quick and agile. Not anywhere near as much as a smaller beast, but compared to a badger, or another large beast, he could keep up with them for a while. Swinging overhead with the sword, the bear altered the slash at the last second, swinging it diagonally from the hybrid's right hip upwards. If it connected, it would more than likely do severe injury.

OOC: I will rp like my characters were not found and you can change the post whenever you get the chance Zyntac.
BIC: Balfuron and Gunnlag crept slowly and surely thought the thick brush, never making any but the slightest sound. "Oi brohem hold fast! me be thinkin there be more beasties arund.." Gunnlag placed his paw on the Hamsters shoulder and perked his ears. "What is it that you hear?" Balferon whispered. "The clanking o' mail and bangin o' steel me thinks, an sounds like we best be headin back ta Vaul and Ragnfast I be thinkin we be outnumberd." Gunnlag spoke quietly. "Right then lets go." Balfuron turned and started sneaking back to Vaul and Ragnfast with Gunnlag heading up the rear.
"Now that is no way to talk to someone neighbor." Vaul smiled his voice taking on a slight edge. When the bear launched the first attack Vaul sighed. "Ragn we had best make sure this does not turn into an ambush, you keep and eye out for any who might want to disturb these two." Vaul stated with all seriousness and looked at the other fox in the clearing. "Vaul is my name and my friend with the flail for a paw is Ragnfast, what may i call you neighbor and where do you stand in all this?"
